As we all know, bicycling is kind of a big deal here in Boise. It is an easy way to navigate through Boise, whether you are zooming through the streets of downtown or are looking or a relaxing ride down the greenbelt. The Boise Bicycle Project is a community-oriented effort to promote the personal, social and environmental benefits of bicycling.

The Idaho Botanical Garden features the Great Garden Escape Concert series this summer, giving you an opportunity to see many amazing artists from a number of different genres! If you are a member of the Idaho Botanical Garden, tickets will only cost you $7 per concert. Non-members can get tickets for $10, with youth tickets (ages 5-12) selling for $4. You can also purchase season discount passes as a member of the Idaho Botanical Garden so you can experience all of your favorites this summer!

Since 1987 the Downtown Boise Twilight Criterium has shown Boise a high intensity, fast-paced race in the heart of downtown Boise. This event brings in on average more than 20,000 spectators to the downtown area and will take place on Saturday, July 14th, 2012. Attendees get the opportunity to see cyclists from around the world competing for money, naming rights, and of course, ego!

It is time once again for one of our favorite annual events! The Idaho Shakespeare Festival is featuring five amazing plays this summer and you can be a part of the action! Each play is performed at the beautiful outdoor Idaho Shakespeare Festival Amphitheater & Reserve. Guests are encouraged to bring a picnic and beverages or to choose from the delicious lineup of snacks and treats from the Café Shakespeare.

Every month in downtown Boise, the first Thursday is celebrated by providing downtown visitors the chance to stroll through a number of the unique shops and galleries, focusing on providing patrons with entertainment and special events. The event takes place between 5:00PM and 9:00PM and gives visitors a chance to see a different side of downtown Boise.

It is finally that time of year again when the weather begins to warm up and we start to see our favorite summer events return. The 26th Annual Alive After Five Summer Concert Series begins this year on June 6th and runs through September 26th on every Wednesday. Held at the Grove Plaza in downtown Boise, this is a great opportunity to enjoy great live music and enjoy a variety of cool beverages, delicious food and explore numerous local vendor booths.

Beginning on May 22nd you will able to experience “Picturing Idaho” at the Idaho State Historical Museum in Julia Davis Park. This event runs through August 19th and will present attendees with the Idaho State Historical Society photograph collection. This collection contains over 1 million images throughout the state of Idaho, spanning the faces and events that make up the history of this great state.
