Upcoming Theater to Keep An Eye Out For
Summer is quickly approaching and there is no better time than now to begin seeing some of the best theater that Boise has to offer! There is a something for everyone this summer, from plays at the Morrison Center to performances at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival. Here are some of the productions that we are most looking forward to this summer season:
- The Mousetrap, Idaho Shakespeare Festival: The Mousetrap, running from June 8th – July 27th, is one of Agatha Christie’s greatest mysteries. Watch as mysterious twists and thrilling turns abound when a group of strangers stranded in a guest house during a snowstorm discover that a murderer is in their midst. The Mousetrap is just one of the many productions running this year at the Idaho Shakespeare Festival.
- Les Miserables, Morrison Center: Cameron Mackintosh presents a brand new 25th anniversary production of Boublil & Schonberg’s legendary musical, Les Miserables, with glorious new staging and dazzlingly reimagined scenery inspired by the paintings of Victor Hugo. Les Miserables begins running this September.
- Something’s Afoot, Knock ‘em Dead Theatre: Closing out the season and into the Fall is another murder mystery, this time of a more comical nature. Something’s Afoot is a spoof of the mystery genre, and involves a group of people invited to the lake estate of Lord Dudley Rancour who must solve the murder of the wealthy lord.
These are just a few of the upcoming shows throughout Boise. Be sure to get out and experience local theater!
